Shah Alam is Selangor's distribution engine, yet most 3PL and haulage websites read like brochures. Here is what a procurement manager needs before shortlisting your yard.
The Enquiry You Never Receive
Section 15, Section 23, Hicom-Glenmarie, Bukit Jelutong and the corridor out towards Port Klang hold some of the busiest warehousing and haulage operations in the country. Yet when a manufacturer or retailer needs a new 3PL, the shortlist is often built from whichever websites answered the basic questions. Companies with better yards, better fleets and better rates get skipped simply because their site said "we provide integrated logistics solutions" and nothing more.
Publish the Numbers Procurement Needs
A logistics buyer is not browsing. They are checking feasibility. Give them, on one page:
- Warehouse capacity — square footage, pallet positions, ceiling height, racking type, dock levellers and loading bays.
- Storage conditions — ambient, air-conditioned, chilled or frozen, plus bonded facilities if you hold them.
- Fleet composition — number and type of vehicles, from vans to prime movers, and whether they are owned or contracted.
- Coverage — Klang Valley, Peninsular, East Malaysia, cross-border to Singapore or Thailand, and typical transit times.
- Distance to what matters — Port Klang, KLIA, the NKVE, KESAS and Federal Highway access.
A competitor who publishes this and one who does not are not competing on equal terms.
Compliance Is Content
Halal certification, ISO 9001, GDP for pharmaceutical handling, customs bonded status, insurance limits, safety record and the SOPs you follow — these decide whether a regulated shipper can even consider you. They belong on a dedicated page with certificate numbers and validity dates, not as logos in a footer strip.
Serve the Two Different Visitors
Two very different people arrive on a logistics website. One is a prospect evaluating you; the other is an existing customer trying to find out where their shipment is. Build for both. Prospects need capability and a request-for-quotation form that asks about volume, SKU count, storage type, inbound frequency and contract length. Existing customers need a tracking lookup or a customer login, prominently placed, so they stop phoning your operations team for status updates. A basic self-service portal quietly removes a large share of daily inbound calls.
Service and Sector Pages Earn the Search Traffic
Nobody searches "integrated logistics solutions". They search "warehouse for rent Shah Alam", "3PL fulfilment Selangor", "cold storage Shah Alam", "container haulage Port Klang", "e-commerce fulfilment Malaysia". Each of those deserves its own page, written for the specific operational concerns of that service. Add sector pages — FMCG, automotive parts, electronics, pharmaceutical, e-commerce — where the buyer sees their own vocabulary reflected back and understands you have handled goods like theirs before.
Show the Facility
Photographs and a short video of the actual warehouse, racking, dock area and fleet do more than any capability statement. Include an aerial or map view showing highway access. For contracts of any size, a site visit is coming anyway; the website that pre-sells the visit shortens the cycle.
Recruitment Is a Second Business Case
Drivers, forklift operators and warehouse supervisors are as hard to secure as customers in Shah Alam. A careers page in Bahasa Malaysia with real shift details, pay ranges and a WhatsApp application route fills roles faster than agency fees — and it uses the same website you already paid for.
